Stan Potts has hunted whitetails for 40 years, harvesting numerous whitetail bucks with a bow, three of which scored over 200 inches. He has given hunting seminars all across North America and been the subject of many feature magazine articles. His hunting successes have been featured in North American Whitetail magazine, Illinois Game and Fish magazine and several other media sources. He has appeared in several hunting videos and television shows, including Realtree Outdoors and Hunter's Specialties Prime Time series. He is co-hosting North American Whitetail Television, airing July 2004 on the Outdoor Channel. Stan is also co-hosting Whitetail Country on ESPN beginning in October, 2004. Stan hunts 100% wild whitetails on public and private property and is well known for his expertise in treestand placement and patterning big mature bucks.

The 2006 season was a memorable one because Stan's son Tim was his cameraman for most of the hunting trips. Tim did an excellent job capturing all the action this year. Their hunts will be featured on several television shows in 2007.






During the 2006 season while hunting in Ohio with good friend Joel Snow, Stan was able to locate this great buck. On two consecutive afternoons he encountered this buck while bowhunting in late October. The buck never came within bow range, but Stan and son Tim were able to get plenty of outstanding footage of this giant. Since the Ohio deer license is good for any season, Stan went back with his Thompson Center 50 caliber Pro Hunter for the late muzzleloader to try again. On the first afternoon from the same treestand the buck came in on camera and gave him a great 110 yard shot. This is probably one of the largest bucks taken on film in 2006 and certainly one of the top bucks taken with a muzzleloader. The hunt will be featured on North American Whitetail Television and Realtree's Monster Bucks video series.






This big 4 x 4 was taken with a Thompson Center Pro Hunter 7 Mag at an unbelievable 441 yards while filming for North American Whitetail Television. This hunt was sponsored by Bad Boy Buggies and J.H. James at Ellislie Plantation. Not bad for the first time hunting in the south near Natchez, Mississippi. (This will definitely not be his last trip to this great place!)






Stan took this great 5 x 5 during the first gun season in early December while hunting with good friends Don and Kandi Kisky in Iowa. He was using the new Thompson Center Pro Hunter 50 caliber muzzleloader. The shot was 140 yards and will air on North American Whitetail Television during the 2007 show season.






This buck was taken at Thompson Center Game Trails Farm in Kentucky during the mid November rifle season. Stan was bow hunting during mid October and missed this big 8-pointer but was able to return for the gun season and tag this same buck one month later with a Pro Hunter in 308 caliber. The hunt will be shown on North American Whitetail Television in 2007.






Mid November always proves to be one of the best times in Illinois. This huge brow-tined 5 x 5 was taken with a Mathews Switchback XT while hunting at Buckhorn Outfitters in Green County. The hunt was filmed for North American Whitetail Television to air during the 2007 show season beginning the first of July.






This big 5 x 6 bowkill was taken with Sugar Creek Outfitters in Schuyler County, Illinois. In early November the weather was warm and hunting was tough. Along with Brenda's help spotting this buck the evening before, Stan was able to hang a stand mid-morning the next day and took the buck over a decoy that afternoon.






While hunting moose and mule deer in October in northern Alberta, Canada, Stan was able to take this nice mulie with his Thompson Center Pro Hunter 7mm. This hunt will be featured on Thompson Center Game Trails in 2007 on the Outdoor Channel.






This bull was taken with Limestone Outfitters in New Mexico in September, 2006 while filming for Gore-Tex Outdoor Adventures Television on the new Versus Channel. He shot the bull with a Mathews Switchback XT.






Stan shot this buck with a Mathews Switchback XT in northeastern Wyoming at Trophies Plus Outfitters on September 4thwhile being filmed by his son Tim for North American Whitetail Television. Not a bad way to start the 2006 season!






Stan took this big 5 x 5 150-class buck in Greene County, IL while hunting with good buddy Rob Scott of Buckhorn Outfitters. The shot was 130 yards with a Thompson Center Omega. The hunt will air on North American Whitetail Television on The Outdoor Channel in 2006.






Stan took this long-tined 8-pointer in the morning, in Kansas, with a bow the day before Thanksgiving. Stan's son, Tim, was filming him for the first time. Later that same day, Rick White took a great buck from the same treestand. Both bucks will be featured on Hunter's Specialties Prime Time Bucks 10 DVD and H.S. Outdoors on The Outdoor Channel in 2006.






This buck was taken in east-central IL while hunting with good friend and cameraman, Mark Wimpy, in November. The hunt will air on North American Whitetail Television on The Outdoor Channel in 2006.






While hunting with Five Star Trophy Outfitters, in October, Stan shot this 8 1/2 year old drop-tine buck at 9:30 in the morning after rattling him in. This hunt will air on North American Whitetail Television on The Outdoor Channel in 2006.






Stan took this antelope while hunting in Wyoming with wife Brenda, at Trophies Plus Outfitters in October. Brenda also took a great antelope. This husband-wife hunt will air on Gore Tex Outdoor Adventures on OLN in 2006.






The famed Milk River was the location for this hunt with Realtree. On Stan's birthday, the afternoon of October 2nd, he took this beautiful 5 x 5 buck. This hunt will be featured on Monster Bucks DVD and possibly Realtree Outdoors in 2006.






While hunting in New Mexico with Larry Joe and Marty Moore, of New Mexico Pro Outfitters, Stan shot this 363 bull on September 17, 2005. The shot was at thirty three yards. This hunt will air on Gore Tex Outdoor Adventures on OLN in 2006.






Stan shot this early season buck in Wyoming on September 3rd, 2005 with Trophies Plus Outfitters. It is a 140 class nine point with a forking G-2. The hunt will air on North American Whitetail Television on The Outdoor Channel in 2006.






Stan participated in the annual Aiming For A Cure Fundraiser in Iowa (www.aimingforacure.com). His team had a great hunt and helped raise funds for a wonderful cause. The mission of the Aiming For A Cure Foundation is to benefit the pediatric hematology/oncology programs at Children's Hospital of Iowa. Through a unique partnership forged between Hunter's Specialties and Children's Miracle Network, Aiming For A Cure supports research, patient care and the families of children undergoing cancer treatment through donations and a celebrity benefit one weekend every year. While hunting in Kansas with a Thompson Center Encore 7-mm, Stan took this nice 9-pointer at 185 yards. The hunt will be featured on Hunter's Specialties Primetime Bucks Video and HS Outdoors TV program. The buck is a 135 to 140 class taken on a winter wheat field in the late afternoon on December 2, 2004.






This Illinois buck was taken with a Mathews Outback in west-central Illinois while hunting at the Grigsby. This was filmed for North American Whitetail television, to air in 2005 on the Muzzy Super Bow Hunt. The buck is in mid-140's as an 8-pointer and was taken in a cut corn field over "Bucky Junior."






This buck was taken on November 9, 2004 with a Mathews Outback in an east-central Illinois river bottom. It scores in the low 150's as a 9-pointer. It was filmed for North American Whitetail television, to air in 2005. The buck came in to a Delta decoy that Stan likes to call "Bucky Junior."






Stan shot this mule deer in Montana at 285 yards with a Thompson Center, it has a 31 & 1/2 inch outside spread. The hunt will be featured on Gore-Tex Outdoor Adventures in 2005.






Stan shot this buck on September 1st with his Mathews Outback, in Wyoming, while hunting with Trophies Plus Outfitters. It is a 9 point 135 class buck. It was opening day and his first time in the stand for the year.






This Arizona 6x6 bull came to within five yards for a Muzzy Moment. The hunt will be featured on HS PrimeTime Bulls & HS Outdoors on the Outdoor Channel in 2005. He was hunting with Larry Joe and Marty Moore of Arizona New Mexico Pro Outfitters.






Stan shot this bull with his Thompson Center Encore 7mm at 354 yards while hunting on the Williams Fork Ranch in Hayden, Colorado. The hunt will be featured on Gore Tex Outdoor Adventures on OLN in the summer of 2005.






This 220 inch buck was featured on Hunter's Specialties PrimeTime Bucks 6. Stan killed this deer in Illinois in 2001 with a bow. This buck is the largest gross scoring whitetail ever harvested on professional video.






This buck was killed in Montgomery county in 2002 over a buck decoy on November 13th in the afternoon. It was featured on Prime Time Bucks 7 by Hunter's Specialties. It will also be on ESPN2 Realtree's Whitetail Country in November.






Stan shot this deer in the late season (December) during a Sportsmen Against Hunger Fundraiser at Buckhorn Outfitters in Greene County, Illinois.
